Songs from the Deep - Interview with Wally Franklin

For the past 22 years, Trish and Wally Franklin have intimately journeyed into the culture, families and consciousness of whales, through their ongoing research initiative The Oceania Project. What stemmed from an initial desire to learn more about the inner world of these great beings, has evolved into an-ever deepening passion for communing with and sharing the whales' message with the world through their ongoing research and expedition project. We're honored to share this wonderful and powerful interview with Wally, which was recorded at the beginning of this year's Peace in the Water vigil.

One Song Project 2009

The 2009 Peace in the Water initiative has seen the launch of a very special new global sound initiative, the ONE SONG PROJECT. The project was founded by New Earth Creations and The T.O.N.E. and carries a simple yet profound mission to get "the whole world singing the same song at the same time". This Song (a weaving of whale song, indigenous song and prayer, didjeridoo, Native American flute and chanting voices from around the world) is a sacred love song to all of life on this precious planet. It is a song of love & gratitude to the Waters on our living planet, to Mother Earth, to the great whales of the Oceans, to all of her creatures, to the indigenous peoples of our planet and to all of humanity. The project was launched on Solstice (June 21), unifying thousands of people around the globe in song... May the sacred sonic wave continue to build for all to share and sing along.  Visit www.onesongproject.com for full info about the layers of the song and the ongoing initiative!

Yiragir - One Song Foundation Song with Luis Walker

Luis Walker offers a special gift to this years project with an offering of Sacred chant, spoken words, didgeridoo, clapping sticks in this powerful Yiragir song. Also in the Yiragir track is Flute played by Elvina Munir.

This song for Luis is quite literally a tender sharing between him and his grandmother, the great Whale. There is no separation of species in his being. He is singing a song with, to and for his grandmother. Yiragir (pronounced “Yirigi”) is spoken a few times in the track. This is the name of the great White Whale who is the Creator in many of their creation stories. We are incredibly grateful for his contribution to the 2009 One Song Project.

Ngali Goomera with Bunna Lawrie

Bunna Lawrie, Song man of the Mirning people of South Australia.
Bunna arrived into the project with a calm profoundness, introducing the energy and essence of Mirdinjar, or “Creation Song”... A song that can be heard in the whispers of the breeze, the call of the eagle and song of whales...  His role as song man is to bring the energy of creation song back to the people. Bunna (who stars in the recent Australian feature documentary, Whale Dreamers) brought wonderful energy and wisdom to the One Song project. We recorded this raw track live with Bunna as he listened to the songs of whales in Dr. Didge Arpana's studio at Dolphins Downunder.

Blue Whale Song Vibration

The song of the Blue Whale is the loudest known sound on our whole planet (louder than a jet plane).  This sound, if unimpeded, could circle the globe and return to its source.  The voice of the Blue Whale is a low frequency sound and therefore cannot be fully heard by human ears unless sped up by a factor of ten. This recording is in original format and - while almost inaudible on speakers - comes though headphones as deep and pure vibration. Very powerful.

"Oceanwater" - Introducing CORNFLOWER

This magical vocal creation was inspired during the 2008 Peace in the Water vigil by rising vocal-instrumentalist,  global pod brother CORNFLOWER (Oregon, USA).

Everything you hear in this song comes directly from Cornflower's mouth.  His masterful weaving of soul-inspired lyrics with an alchemical blend of vocal-percussion, live-looping and intuitive FLOW, creates a musical experience that would make even Whale and Dolphin vocalists proud. Check out Cornflower's full bio in the Allies and Co-Creators page, or better yet, visit him at www.cornflowermusic.com. Best of all, go experience this brother live!

"Bring your Awareness to your Breath... let go of all the rest.  Open Your Heart... allow yourself to be guided. Enjoy the music and world of Cornflower." (www.cornflowermusic.com)

The Way of Cetacea: A Journey into Whale and Dolphin Consciousness

As ancient stewards of this oceanic planet, whales and dolphins have lived in peace on the planet for millions of years. Their songs and migration trails weave a web of light through the sea and right now they are giving us the opportunity to do the same above land. To come together and learn once again to sing the same song, for the good of all.  Join the founder of Peace in the Water, Chip Richards, for a journey into the way of Cetacea and a glimpse of what we may have to learn from these great beings at this time.

Weekly Gathering of the Global Pod

We now invite ALL who feel inspired to join us each Friday at sunset (wherever you are in the world), for 30 minutes -- to continue to build visions and energy for PEACE in the WATER.  It is a vital time for our planet on so many levels, and the element of WATER is the perfect place to bring our songs of clear intention and our visions for the world we wish to create.  In Australia, we often gather at Little Wategoes Beach, Byron Bay -- drop us a note if you'd like to come and join us!

08.08.08 Wategos Beach - "Now it's Your Turn"

On a few separate occasions during August, we have gathered with several others at Wategos Beach, Byron Bay in ceremony for/with the Whales, the Ocean and the Planet... Each time , the world of possibility seems to open up a little wider... As we are greeted by multiple pods and families of whales, moving very close into shore, breaching, playing, connecting, surfacing with their new born calves... leaving ALL feeling part of a deep and genuine exchange of energy, intention and connection.

The following is an account of a very special gathering which took place on 08.08.08.

08.22.08 - The Crossroads of Rebirth

Last night’s gathering was particularly profound as SEVEN families of whales gathered in the Bay in what appeared to be an interchange moment of the last few families going north to give birth, crossing paths with the first few families heading back south with their young. This celebratory crossroads of new life felt particularly profound given the sad passing of the young whale in Sydney Harbour earlier this week.  As the pods met in the Bay at sunset, two rainbows, lightening AND massive heaven beams blasted down on the mountains and across the waters. It cranked opened hearts and united people across the beach, and left us feeling like WE ARE ALL part of a deep and genuine exchange of energy, intention and connection. Blessed be.
